Barrel fermented Berliner Weisse // 3.6% // 440ml

Production notes from Sobremesa:

"Brewed with 100% Australian grown grains.
Floor malted - pilsner & wheat from House of Malt (VIC). Australian rolled rye & oats. Hopped lightly w/ Saaz (CZ).
Fermented in two neutral barriques for 5 months with a blend of saccharomyces, lactobacillus & brettanomyces strains. This is a 50/50 blend of both those barrels.
Unfiltered and naturally conditioned."

Bright and vibrant, lightly sour with refreshing tartness. It's really interesting to see an Australian take on Berlinerweisse that doesn't use any fruit and kudos to Casey and Hannah from Sobremesa for doing exactly that. Delicious.
