2022 “Nostalgia” Pinot Noir - Gippsland

Lisa and Justin Jenkins’ Fleet Wines are a new discovery for us and this wine is their current pinnacle. 30+ year old vines in Leongatha are the star here with 20% de-stemmed, naturally fermented for 18 days and 80% whole bunch fermented for 21 days. It’s then aged in oak puncheons (20% new) and bottled unfined and unfiltered. This wine has beautiful structure and aromatics, there’s earth and spice with plenty of fruit weight, complexity and long, fine tannins. There’s layers and layers in this wine and it all comes together exceptionally.
