2022 "Macclesfield" Pinot Noir - Yarra Valley VIC

From a tough 2022 vintage in the Yarra, Matt East has created a very limited swan song (40 dozen only) from some pristine Upper Yarra fruit. Wild yeast fermented with 10% whole bunch, plenty of time in French oak (25% new) and left unfined and unfiltered,  this is pure elegance. 

Structured and layered,  there’s elevated dark fruit here with savoury spice and dark florals. Deep, intense and long, this is a brilliant Yarra Pinot that loves a bit of air.
