2017 Patrick “P-Series” Shiraz - Limestone Coast, SA

Patrick of Coonawarra are by no means new nor fledgling but they are excellent. Established by the late Patrick Tocaciu in 1998 and helmed by his son Luke since 2013, they seem to be one of the few Coonawarra producers seeking to progress past the bold, tannic monsters of old. This wine is a gem of a Shiraz and such ridiculous value. 2015 fruit that spent 2 years in old oak now looking bold and rich but also super rounded and supple. Deep and dark but very easy to get into and even easier to finish a bottle.
